Injury - September 9, 2008 How is it going it is 8DEUCE on your computer screen. First I would like to thank my family, friends, and fans for all the support over the course of the season. As you know I am currently playing through one of my toughest injuries. I have gotten a lot of mixed emotions from everyone that I talk to. Most tell me that I should sit down for a week to heal up, and I truly understand that point of view. I just wanted to write this blog to allow you the people to understand my point of view. It takes longer then a week for me to heal from this injury, and sitting down one week would be worthless because as soon as I get back out there it would still bother me. I would have to be out for 3 or 4 weeks to fully get passed this injury. I know my body and the pain that I am willing to take to help this team get over the hump and conquer the CFL. In high school and college it was important for me to play, and it gave the team the best chance possible to win. Now, I don’t believe I have to be on the field for this team to win, but at the same time I don’t want to be off the field because I love helping this team win games. I am not playing through this injury to try and prove my manhood or to show people how tough I am. I worked hard in the off season to come out and play 18 regular season games and 2 or 3 playoff games, and help this team make it to the top. I have seen other people play through things, and I have seen other people sit on the sidelines and watch. I don’t judge others because we all handle things differently. What is simple to me is not for others and what is simple to others is not to me. I have 6 months to heal and get ready to go again next year, so I ask you to pray for me and this team. My thoughts, Your Time, Thanks For Reading. Nik L. |
