"Excited about the Season"

I am really excited about this season. There are so many things to be excited about and I will start by saying that Huff is a great coach. I was really impressed with the fact that he is so involved in the Offense and Defense. Some of the previous coaches in my career helped out one side or just left everything up to the Offensive and Defensive coordinators. Huff will already be thinking on the sidelines of what should be going on on the field. Some coaches really can't question other coaches if they don't really know whats going on. It is really a different year, and I get the sense that the whole coaching staff is better. Even though Cortez was here last year; I believe that he is a better coach this year. Our coaches have put in many hours in the off-season to give this team a chance to win. Now it is up to us the players to go out and execute the gameplans.

I will start with the Defense: Jojuan Armour has really been a positive influence on the defensive side, and he brings a lot of playmaking ability to the linebacking core. I think that shannon James is the most versitile linebacker in the league. He is a solid tackler and has the speed of a Defensive back. Brandon Browner has prepared himself to be the best DB in the league. He takes everything so personal. He puts a lot of pressure on himself to be the best and make plays. Everyone thought he was good last year, but this year he will be much improved. The other cornerback has really impressed me with his speed and playmaking ability. Dwight Anderson is really solid and I believe he will be competing with Brandon for the most interceptions.

Then you look at the offensive side of the football and it is like playing in the pro-bowl. When we step on the field it is a lot of excitement about what we can do. We have the Running back that doesn't need a lot of carries to get a 100 yards. We have Wide outs that compliment each other. Cope adjust to the deep ball better then anybody I have ever seen. He just knows how to position his body against the defender. Then you have Ken-Yon Rambo who has the ability to make big time catches and run away from people. It's like he gets better every year. I am glad that I am surrounded by such great athletes. The best thing is that we hold each other accountable for everything that goes on. We can just look at each other and we know exactly what the other is thinking. When we have a couple 2 and outs we come to the sidelines and talk about what we need to do as playmakers to get the team going. Then you have the best back in the game Joffrey Reynolds that just eats up yards. When I watch film on past games the one thing that stands out is some of the cuts he makes. He is physical running back at the same time. I think he is the most complete back in the league. I have high standards for him and he knows it. I don't even know if I need to talk about hank and Dave. I believe those two are understood, and they always come to play. Hank deals with a lot of pressure from around the league and when we play at home. It has to feel like he plays on the road every week. I have seen so many people quick to down him, but then when he plays good they don' t give him credit. I think he deserves a lot of credit. Then Dave has been one of the most consistant quarterbacks in CFL History. At the end of the day we have had talent here for the last couple of years and it all ended in the same place. I am tired of going home early, and I know that this team is stepping to the plate ready battle the best and the rest. If we live up to what we are as a team, we will finally come out on top.
